Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centers. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.

**JOB TITLE - Communications Coordinator**

**Position**: Full-Time - 40 hours a week, 12 month Term
- with the possibility of extension.

**Time**: commencing July,2024

**Location**: Spring Garden Road, Halifax NS

**What you’ll be doing **
Reporting to the Branding & Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator will support the Communications team and broader organization with digital marketing and public relations projects to help champion Autism Nova Scotia’s brand and initiatives across the province.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support internal requests for social media and website
- Social media content creation, monitor content and manage responses
- Develop and update communications plans
- Create and distribute bimonthly e-newsletter
- Write stories and support blog editorial
- Lead portfolio to enhance engagement with membership community
- Provide communications support to Regional Autism Centres across the province
- Monitor media and disability sector; review trends and best practices
- Event participation and support as needed

**What we’re looking for **

**Requirements**:

- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or marketing
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a communications or marketing
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Critical thinking, decision-making and problem solving skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Adept with Microsoft Office, WordPress, MailChimp, Adobe, Canva, Google Analytics, etc.
