Estimator Residential & Multi-family projects

RareBuilt Homes Ltd. is an award-winning Calgary based home builder. RareBuilt received the 2022 BILD Calgary Region, Multi Family Small Volume Builder of the Year award as well as a 2023 and 2024 BILD Alberta Pinnacle Small Volume Builder of the Year Finalist. RareBuilt has been building custom homes in the Calgary area for nearly two decades. We have expanded our reach from single family custom homes into land development and high-end multi-family projects. Our company takes great pride in the homes we build, and this carries through to all facets of how the company operates.

As a result of some key land acquisitions and future development projects, we’re growing our team in all departments and looking to add some key people to our Planning & Estimating team.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**
- Issue bid packages and RFQs (Requests for Quotations) to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Compile estimates of all materials, labor, equipment costs using historical data, supplier quotes, and software tools for multi family and single-family custom homes.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness and accuracy.
- Track permit statuses and ensure all required documentation is filed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure plans meet regulatory and company standards.
- Develop and manage comprehensive budgets and budget reviews for multiple units and phases of construction.
- Ensure budget alignment with client expectations and project scope.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks, site challenges, or permitting delays.
- Source and order materials, negotiating with suppliers for the best prices and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of estimates, contracts, change orders, workflow approvals and correspondence with trades, suppliers and the RareBuilt Operations team.
- Support handoff of planning documents and estimates to field teams during project launch working closely with our accounting, sales and design departments.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Minimum 3+ years experience in estimating single-family and/or multi-family construction and renovations.
- Deep understanding of custom homes and estate homes, residential and multi-family construction methods is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Estimating software**:Buildertrend, CoConstruct**Knowledge of Builder Trend (or other builder software) experience an asset.
- Knowledge of Acumatica an asset.

**WHAT WE’RE OFFERING**
- Full-time, permanent position
- Schedule is Monday-Friday
- $85,000-$90,000/year Salary
- Annual performance bonus plan

Pay: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
