**ABOUT BILD ALBERTA**
BILD Alberta is a not-for-profit industry association that advocates on behalf of its 1,300 residential builders, land developers, professional renovators and supplier members. We are a solution focused organization, advocating on issues impacting housing affordability, land development and business viability. BILD Alberta is part of a three-tiered association, working closely with our local association partners across Alberta and the Canadian Home Builders Association nationally (CHBA National).
**Primary Objective**:
BILD Alberta seeks a passionate individual with expertise in building science to advocate on behalf of Alberta’s home builders, renovators and land developers.
**Responsibilities**:Working under the CEO, in collaboration with team members and stakeholders, this position will lead and coordinate BILD Alberta’s work in the area of building codes, standards and regulations. This position will:
- Engage with staff, members, local and national associations, external stakeholders and government on matters related to residential and commercial construction.
- Review, assess and provide commentary and recommendations on current and future versions of National and Alberta Codes.
- Respond to specific Code issues as may arise from members or local associations.
- Undertake technical research, policy analysis and prepare strategic recommendations related to residential and commercial construction.
- Prepare committee and working group meeting materials, attend meetings and provide follow-up.
- Monitor National, Provincial and local emerging issues that will impact the industry in the short and long-term.
- Assist in development and coordination of member education and resources throughout the province.
**Experience / Skills**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential construction and design, specifically utilizing Alberta Building Codes.
- Ideally some knowledge of commercial construction.
- Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code, National Energy Code and some knowledge of codes related to fire, electrical, plumbing and gas.
- Must be comfortable with occasional public speaking and networking.
- Proficient research and writing skills.
**Location**
**Edmonton (hybrid) or Calgary (remote)**
**Travel**
This position requires occasional travel within province and attendance in meetings and conferences across Canada.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Schedule of Monday to Friday.
- Occasional attendance at evening and/or weekend events.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
**COMPENSATION**
- Salary is dependent on experience and skillset.
- Full benefit package including health spending account, wellness benefit after 3 months of employment and up to 5% RRSP matching, after 6 months of employment.
**Salary**: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
