Your Opportunity:
The Health Care Aide - Nursing Attendant is a member of the acute care and long-term care teams and is responsible for providing direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the patient / resident, and provides indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area. These services are provided under supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or regulated healthcare professional in accordance with their designated colleges’ supervision guidelines.
Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Health Care Aide Certification Course Certificate. Current BLS - HCP status. Completed and current AHS Annual Competencies - including current It’s your Move course status. N-95 mask fitting status must be current. Recent 2-year HCA acute care experience. Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Foreign Trained Nurse Professional. Continuing Care Health Service Standards education. Palliative/End of Life Health Care Education Course. Wound Care Education/course for Health Care Aide. Acute care work experience. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/clients, families, visitors and team members. Ability to handle the physical demands of the position.
