The Program Manager is responsible for the coordination and execution of projects that execute within the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) North America Insurance domain, ensuring the successful achievement of common goals. They are responsible for creating and managing the supporting project plans, business expectations, steering committees, budget, risks and issues and in general, all the project governance mechanisms we employ at AXIS. The Program Manager must be effective at leading and guiding the work of project delivery teams, serving as a liaison between project/business owners and technical stakeholders, and monitoring progress to assure scope, schedule, quality, and budget targets are met.

The Program Manager reports to the Senior Program Manager-Business Applications and works in partnership with the North America Insurance team and other members of the global BTS leadership team. This role should possess a combination of strong program management, team building, and interpersonal skills, with the roles greatest asset being the ability to plan and execute a program of projects whilst driving the adoption of industry standard Project Management frameworks to strike the right balance of governance. The position requires experience delivering change in the Insurance industry, coordinating with strategic sourcing partners, and leading local and offshore delivery teams.

**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare overall program plan, set program goals and deliverables.- Review plans of individual projects ensuring they are both realistic and reflective.- Oversee the implementation of all projects, identifying and managing cross project dependencies.- Request periodic project reports from individual project leaders.- Document all high-level project events and milestones within the program plan.- Monitor, control and report on program budget.- Assess and manage risk for the program, develop and implement contingency plans- Communicate to project sponsors, team members and other business stakeholders; deliver audience-appropriate messages, to include executive presentations.- Develop program management standards and methodologies to achieve program goals; assist in strategies to develop a stronger project management team as required.- Build project teams; negotiate with resource managers to align team members with appropriate skill sets.- Manage conflict between individual project or enhancement teams.- Proofread and approve vendor SOWs.

Required Skills and Qualifications- 10 or more years’ experience with project management in the P&C Insurance industry preferred.- 5 or more years’ experience executing large programs of work, coordinating multiple projects within a program.- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science.- PMP, PgMP, Six Sigma certification (or similar relevant credential) preferred.-
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.- Possess strong project management (planning and organizing) skills coupled with the ability to think strategically to deliver on IT's commitment to their business partners.- Knowledge of the entire IT Project Lifecycle, especially with regard to planning and initiation, delivery, testing, & problem resolution.- Ability to facilitate, collaborate, influence and drive resolution across different stake holders within a cross functional organization.- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across the organization on a regular basis.- Ability to develop and manage budgets and financial management tools.- Skills and experience in communication, leadership, team building, influencing, decision making, negotiation, and building interpersonal relationships. Must be detail oriented and organized.- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments; fast learner, with the ability to work under stress.- Ability to escalate issues, risks, concerns as needed to correct level if unresolved at program level.
