**Principal tasks and responsibilities include**:

- Leading and mentoring a cost control team, including project accountants and billing administrators.
- Developing and implementing cost management systems and reporting frameworks aligned with company policies.
- Delivering detailed financial reporting and analysis on overhead costs, budgets, forecasts, variances, risks, opportunities, and cash flow — with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborating with Project Managers and Construction Managers to assess project risks and optimize contingency strategies.
- Streamlining processes and building dashboards to improve reporting and forecasting.
- Supporting contract management by tracking approved and unapproved changes and recommending financial improvements.
- Establishing and presenting key performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Interpreting and analyzing financial statements to guide stakeholders through critical data for decision-making.
- Creating and implementing controls to mitigate risks across long-term projects.

**Qualifications and pre-requisites**:

- A recognized accounting designation or a degree in finance.
- 5+ years of progressive financial accounting and reporting experience, ideally within the construction sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and present actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, auditing practices, and financial data analysis.
- Leadership skills with proven ability to drive adherence to financial and cost control protocols.
- Proficiency in governance and risk management strategies in project settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with PMs, CMs, and senior leadership.
