Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Technician II provides operational and technical support as an integral member of the Operations & Maintenance team. The primary objective of the Building Technician is to ensure that the facility and assets are being maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.
- Possess a solid understanding of general facilities maintenance practices.
- Have knowledge and ability to operate maintenance tools/equipment safely.

- ** MUST** be able to pass police and CPIC security clearances.

**How will you contribute to the team?**
- Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and AV equipment.
- Perform building and equipment checks & maintenance records.
- Respond to and resolve all client/tenant service requests via helpdesk.
- Monitoring of computerized control systems such as Building Automation Systems, Security systems etc.
- Troubleshoot and identify equipment replacement and preventative maintenance work on a proactive basis, to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Perform general maintenance when required from time to time including housekeeping shoveling and pressure washing.
- Ensure the safety of the buildings, staff and public from fire, flood and other hazards by ensuring that all mandated tests and inspections are carried out while responding to emergencies liaising with contractors and trades.
- Office furniture moves/reconfigurations.
- Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety standards.
- Perform the daily operations with a strong commitment to customer service.
- Respond to environmental risks and hazards.
- Partake in the corporate health and safety program.
- Participate in on-call rotation (1 week on, 3 weeks off); periodically assist in providing vacation/leave coverage for other facilities in the portfolio.
- Participate in tenant and staff community-support events as appropriate.

**What will you contribute?**
- High School graduation.
- Post-secondary certificate or designation preferably in one of the following would be considered an asset: Building Environmental Systems Class II or greater, security systems.
- 2-5 years’ experience in facility maintenance or similar field.
- Familiar with hand and power tools and must be able to complete small repairs as required.
- Valid ‘G’ driver’s license.
- Ability to quickly learn and confidently use phone Apps for administering business processes.
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Working at Heights certified (or willing to obtain).
