We are currently recruiting for a **Carpenter Journeyperson**to join the **Buildings** group at one of the various projects in **Edmonton, AB**

**Shifts are 5 days on 2 days off - chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends/ or possible afternoon & night shift) if site requires.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
- Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
- Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
- Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
- Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Look for, and fix deficiencies
- Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
- Studies blueprints for work planning
- Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- General site upkeep

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Preference will be given to a Carpenter Journeyperson Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
- Ability to coach, mentor and train apprentices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
