Position Summary: As an International Student Counselor, you will play a key role in ensuring the success and well-being of international students. Your responsibilities will include

Academic Advising: Provide personalized academic advice to international students to help them understand program requirements and make informed decisions about their programs.

Cultural integration: Facilitate programs and workshops that promote cultural understanding and integration, creating a supportive environment for students from diverse backgrounds.

Immigration Support: Keep up-to-date with the latest immigration regulations and guide students through the visa process, work permits and other related matters.

Student Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of international students and act as a liaison between students and various campus resources.

Emergency Support: Assist international students in critical situations by providing support and resources to ensure their safety and well-being.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field

Experience in international student counseling or related work.

Excellent knowledge of immigration regulations and policies.

Excellent cross-cultural communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Understanding of higher education

Mandarin required

Cantonese Cantonese may be required

Vietnamese Malasian may be required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual, Internship / Co-op

**Salary**: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Commission pay
- Tips

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Richmond Hill, ON L4B 2P3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
