Here are some details about the position - **POSITION TITLE: Technical Sales Manager - OEM Hydraulics** **PURPOSE OF POSITION**: The Technical Sales Manager for OEM Pumps is responsible for developing relationships with new customers and growing existing Delavan accounts through the promotion and selling of the company’s hydraulic products to commercial, industrial & OEM enterprises in need of fluid power related products. The Technical Sales Manager is committed to understanding Delavan’s long and short-term goals and participating in projects and solving issues at all levels to move the company forward using your unique expertise. The sales manager will regularly report all sales related results in the defined reporting system or as ownership requests. This position requires exercising independent judgment to perform the responsibilities described herein and does require routine monthly travel. **RELATIONSHIPS**: **Reports To**: Director of Sales **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Develop new business. Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities through customer pipeline list, researching customers, competitors and new markets by networking, the Internet and other sources. - Meet with customers (preferably final decision-makers) to present Delavan solutions. Develop PowerPoint slide deck that summarizes situation and solution. Includes creating trip planning and benefit reports to Delavan and cost summary for pre-travel approval. Follow - up on any questions/issues arising from customer meeting. - Partner with current customers to ascertain current needs and generate additional sales. Lead development of approach to potential sale. Includes creating high-level overview of current customer situation, problem to solve, Delavan solution and benefits of working with Delavan, i.e., quality, name/brand, shipping, improved service. Involves gathering technical input from Product Managers, company advantage input from the President, Director of Sales, and others in order to ensure all aspects are considered appropriately. - Provide Purchase Order (PO) numbers to customer service for all new sales of products. Includes early involvement with order entry process on new customers; follow-up with expeditor on dates, delivery, etc. ensuring customer is kept appraised as appropriate. - Proactively manage business. Keep abreast of environmental, economic, and competitor issues that could affect account businesses. Share information as means of keeping customer informed, discuss the impact to customer business, along with potential Delavan solutions. - Routine sales travel to visit new and existing customers and represent Delavan at trade shows. Includes providing information regarding product offerings, understanding customer needs, developing sales leads for qualification, and participating in planning trade shows with Product Managers and Inside Sales team. - Work closely with Product Management Department to recognize & promote sales opportunities. - Ensure that databases are current and updated with accurate customer information. - Routinely pull and reference system reports for additional sales opportunities. - Execute timely preparation of all expense reports, call reports, and assigned projects. - Keep management and sales team members informed of all relevant activity. - Expectation, if working remotely, employee will keep Delavan team members informed of travel schedule and be available for meetings as requested. - Remote employees are expected to attend the Delavan Head Office 2- 5 days per month at a minimum. **QUALIFICATIONS**: **Education, Skill, and Ability Requirements** - BS/BA or equivalent experience. - Microsoft Office including proficiency in PowerPoint and prior database experience. - Self-confident - Comfortable ‘asking for the order.’ - Business Acumen - Problem-solver - Good communication skills - Positive Attitude - Good time management **Experience Requirements**: - 5 years prior sales experience in a related technical sales field **Travel**:30 - 40% Travel Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year **Benefits**: - Dental care - Life insurance - Paid time off - Tuition reimbursement - Vision care Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday - Weekend availability Supplemental pay types: - Bonus pay
