**Parks Labourers - Temporary Contract to November 30, 2024
**Starting Wage - $18.33/hour**
**Flexible (up to) 24 hour per week**

**Availability required for Days, Evenings and Weekends
**SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of public parks, washroom facilities, trails,

playgrounds sports fields and campgrounds. May include activities such as landscaping
and planting, turf mowing, weed control, plant and tree care, general repairs, waste
removal, snow removal, customer service and assistance with setup of special events
including the Winter Village Installation.

Dealing with questions from the public in a friendly and professional manner. The ability
to refer questions to supervisors when necessary.

Operate and maintain tools and small equipment such as OHV/ATV, mowers, weed
eaters, trailers and tillers.

Operate and maintain Town vehicles.
Recording vehicle and equipment and trail inspections, near miss and hazard

assessments, and maintaining other safety training documentation.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experienced Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License with clean or near clean abstract as

deemed acceptable by the Town.
RCMP based Criminal Record Check is required to be considered
Current Standard First Aid/CPR preferred
Previous experience working in the Parks and Recreation field is an asset.
Previous experience in landscape maintenance, turf maintenance, campground

operations, construction and use of power tools will also be considered assets.
Must be available to work full time weekends, evenings, or early mornings as required

throughout the summer.
Physical ability and strength, including lifting up to 50 lbs. to perform manual labour

tasks and handle equipment.
Work as part of a team, demonstrate excellent communication, positively interact with

the public, and adhere to safe work practices.
