Equipment Rental Manager

**ROLE**:
The Equipment Rental Manager is responsible for overseeing the rental of equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, managing customer relationships, mentoring sales staff, and supervising administrative staff. Working in a team environment, this role will be responsible for delivering equipment rental division revenue and profit targets while ensuring continuous improvements in safety, quality and client satisfaction, and Surerus brand reputation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Responsible for achieving Equipment Rental business plan
- Oversee rentals of various equipment types, ensuring availability and proper maintenance
- Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand their equipment needs and provide recommendations
- Implement strategies to optimize rental processes, including inventory management and maintenance schedules
- Ensure good working relationships are maintained between customers, both internal, external and partner companies.
- Establish and maintain long term repeat customer relationships through Key Account Management approach.
- Maintain effective reporting lines to management.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is in good working condition and ready for rental or sale
- Addressing and resolving customer issues or complaints related to equipment rentals or sales
- Hire, coach/mentor, provide direction, and review the performance of Equipment Rental staff
- On an ongoing basis review established processes to look for improvements in quality, efficiency and safety
- Ensure equipment and workspaces are maintained to a high level of cleanliness at all times
- Follow and maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment requirements
- Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements
- Promote and encourage a positive attitude to Health & Safety
- Liaise and collaborate within operations, joint ventures, and corporate support functions as required
- Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company._
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:
- Qualifications_
- High School Diploma
- Post secondary education in a relevant field is considered an asset
- Experience with heavy civil construction equipment
- Previous experience in a related Trade or Discipline is preferred
- Experience_
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a management position, preferably in heavy civil equipment rentals for industrial, oil & gas, pipeline, and energy industry construction sectors
- Skills & Knowledge_
- Adaptability to rapidly changing demands, with strong problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
- Detail oriented, analytical, organized and strong work ethic
- Self-motivated, results driven, able to work well under time constraints and meet deadlines
- Ability to develop and facilitate trustworthy partnerships and manage long term customer relationships.
- Understanding of heavy civil construction and intimate knowledge of the equipment.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This position is office based and can work in our permanent Fort St John or Gibbons locations. Travel to other company locations and client meetings will be required.
**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**:
The Equipment Rental Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This position may have equipment sales representative and administration direct reports.
**COMPENSATION & BENEFITS**:
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually. We will consider factors including previous experience, education, skills, and internal equity when determining placement within this range. In addition, we provide a discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, life and disability insurance, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
