Male Community Support Worker

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with clients to support their daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life. This position requires a strong commitment to caregiving and the ability to handle various tasks related to patient care.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Support hospice care needs as required, ensuring dignity and comfort for clients in their final stages of life.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop care plans tailored to individual client needs.
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Experience in home care or senior care settings is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation are beneficial.
- Certification in patient care or nursing is a plus but not required.
