Our programs are community based supporting adults, diagnosed with developmental delays, Autism, OCD and other behaviours. **Duties and Responsibilities** - Provide and maintain a safe supportive environment - Foster community inclusion and relationships - Ability to encourage and foster independence - Ability to follow health care / behavioural plans - Ability to follow daily schedule and routines - Ability to prioritize, manage crisis, work independently and also as part of a team - Ability to set clear boundaries - Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) - Possess the level of physical fitness necessary to effectively carry out the duties of the position including being able to assist people to transfer. Activities may include squatting, kneeling, bending, heavy lifting, climbing, etc. - Complete daily documentation **Applicants must have the following;** - A positive attitude - Community Support Worker Certificate and / or a minimum of one year experience working with people with developmental disabilities - Experience with behavioural support or behaviour intervention an asset - Class 5 driver's license, Class 4 preferable - Emergency First Aid for Adults in Care / CPR certificate - Current TB test(at hire) - Medical clearance letter (at hire) - A clear and current Criminal Record for working with Vulnerable Adults (at hire) - Use of reliable personal vehicles may be required - Provide 3 work references - Provide a current Driver's Abstract Pathways is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or disability. **Job Type**: Casual **Salary**: From $23.22 per hour Schedule: - Day shift - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - Are you comfortable working on your own supporting up to 3 adults in the community? **Education**: - Secondary School (preferred) **Experience**: - Supporting adults with special needs: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: - Emergency First Aid and CPR (preferred) - Class 5 Drivers License (preferred) - Class 4 Drivers License (preferred) Work Location: In person
