Here's how a Surveyor for our BC Region office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage district survey team including coordinating surveyor task/job assignments and provide mentoring and direct supervision as required.
- Liaise with project teams to ensure survey risks are identified and managed appropriately on projects.
- Set up project survey plans and engage with legal survey to establish project benchmarks.
- Manage reality capture program including laser scanning and drones activities in the district.
- Work with procurement team to manage survey and reality capture hardware fleet in the district.
- Work with Virtual Construction team to leverage layout from the model and reality capture information.
- Conduct day to day layout and grading tasks in accordance to project design and ensure measurement of correct distances.
- Coordinate field details, site inspections and liaise with field subcontractors/consultants and field superintendent.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3+ years progressive experience, ideally related to site services and working in and around commercial type sites.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and construction specifications, methods and procedures.
- Experience with operating total station and survey equipment/GPS layout.
- Experience with reality capture technology (laser scanning/drones).
- Technical understanding of surveying programs such as Auto CAD, Revit etc.
- Ability to do estimates for various quantities of materials (i.e. earthworks, concrete).
- Graduated from a recognized geometric engineering technology program.
- NavCanada advanced drone pilot certification is an asset.
- Team player with the ability to work within an integrated staff for field operations.
