This position is for our Extendicare Oakview Place Home, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba

What you’ll be doing- Oversees development of scheduled quality programs, events and activities to meet the needs and interests of residents.- Executes programs, activities and events according to plan and on the budget which drives a high customer satisfaction.- Performs an assessment of health, wellness and quality analysis of therapeutic recreation data for service delivery.- Recruits and manages a team of recreation facilitators and volunteers.- Creates a variety of communication to raise awareness about programs eg. monthly activities calendar and newsletters.- Assists the Administrator with developing the annual operating plan by providing input regarding the recreation department, operating budget, capital plan, Health & Safety/Risk Management and Quality Improvement Plan.

What you bring- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role and prior experience in recreation facilitation and event planning preferably within long-term care or hospital. Proven track record of achieving/exceeding targets.- Post-secondary education in Recreation/Leisure, and certified in Therapeutic Recreation.- Interested in working in a high customer service-oriented environment and thriving on making a difference in the lives of the residents.- Confident, results-oriented, self-starter who is able to take the initiative to play a contributing role in the Management team.- Must provide a clean Adult Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check
