- The Manager, Data and Decision Sciences role is in the System and Infrastructure Planning department in the Division of Health Systems, Planning and Resource Optimization in the Health System Performance and Support portfolio at Ontario Health.
- The Manager is responsible for leading a team that focuses on the design, development and adoption of advanced analytics products for business programs across Ontario Health. Leading an enterprise analytics service, the Manager will engage across OH Programs to identify need for advanced analytics products that meet business needs and align with OH’s strategic goals and, as necessary, will engage in hands-on development of these products. In delivering analytics products, there will be a focus on developing processes and building capacity across OH programs to enable operational effectiveness and efficiency for improved quality and customer satisfaction. The Manager will co-lead the organization’s efforts on the development of an Artificial Intelligence program that meets business needs and aligns OH (CCO)’s strategic goals. The Manager will be a critical member of the System and Infrastructure Planning team and will provide key support to Information Management, Decision Support & Analytics Division, Portfolio Analytics Services, Clinical Programs, Digital Excellence in Health, and OH Regions, as well as external stakeholders (e.g., hospitals, Ministry).

- Manages and leads the evolution of the Data and Decision Sciences team including performance management, workload prioritization, recruitment, retention, and development of staff-
- Provides equitable and inclusive work environment conducive to delivery of high quality work-
- Leads conceptualization, methodology selection, scientific design and development, and delivery of advanced analytical products, ensuring best practices, analytical rigor and methodological validity through use of relevant data assets, available literature, and stakeholder engagement-
- Translates strategic business objectives and activities into parameters and specifications for analytical models by engaging with clinical and business leads and professional analysts/planners-
- Communicates analytics concepts and final recommendations to a varied range of stakeholders, including OH senior leadership (Executive leads, VPs, directors) and Ministry of Health partners to guide planning and policy decisions. This includes developing presentations, briefing notes, and reports as required-
- Remains up to date with latest development in academic literature related to analytical problems faced by OH programs-
- Develops the data and decision sciences strategy to enable the optimization and growth of enterprise analytics services in line with the strategic goals and business needs of OH as an enterprise and its Programs. This includes establishing internal collaboration models and innovation priorities-
- Builds and manages internal and external (including industry and academic) partnerships centered on advancing the use of analytics in health care-
- Co-leads efforts to establish and grow a partnership model for expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence at OH-
- Provides input in procurement and design of OH technology platforms and tools in order to facility and enhance analytics capabilities and maturity; this includes collaborating with Enterprise data management teams as well as technology and architecture teams to specify platform/tool requirements-
- Ensures that OH’s obligations to privacy and data quality are met to the highest standard in development and utilization of analytical products from the teamFunctions with autonomy in setting objectives for the department, managing expectations and tracking items, including: budget management, resource allocation and performance/development planning-
- Develops and fosters critical relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. program staff, regions, Ministry, healthcare practitioners/providers, executive leadership)-
- Makes recommendations and decisions that are aligned with corporate strategies, customer/business unit objectives and organizational/departmental policies/procedures, managing time effectively to meet aggressive timelines-
- Supports Division/Portfolio/Organizational knowledge transfer and communication activities, including participation in internal and external meetings and working groups, regional engagement, and updating appropriate Ontario Health and Ministry staff on planning related activities-
- Serves as Division representative on various committees as requested by the Director-
