Opportunity:
Westcoast Family Centres Society ('Westcoast') is looking to grow its Supervised Access team and is hiring for two-part-time, temporary Indigenous Supervised Access Worker positions. These roles are available for either Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday shifts. The Indigenous Supervised Access workers will be required to work with Indigenous Families to provide safe and supportive supervision while monitoring, coaching, modeling, and documenting. The worker will also be responsible for providing transportation between parents and their children. This position will report to Team Lead, Access & Associated Services.

Job Responsibilities:

- Schedule, supervise, and report parent-child interactions in a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
- Provide coaching, modelling, and education within supervised access settings.
- Provide consistent and safe transportation services for children and youth who may have behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities,
- Enable children and families to promote, strengthen, and nurture appropriate, positive relationships with one another.
- Report all parent-child interactions for safety and appropriateness.
- Set up visit space with age appropriate activates, mindful of the child’s development stage.
- Assess and intervene during visits should any safety concerns arise.
- Effectively communicate with family members and social workers.
- Provide timely reports and be prepared to testify about this in court, if necessary.
- Maintain files in accordance with the accreditation standards.
- Work with families with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Work with at-risk and marginalized families within the community.
- This position involves flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays to accommodate the needs of clients, as well as covering when staff are off.
- Conduct other duties as required.

This program runs 7 days a week, including holidays to accommodate the needs of clients. We are currently looking for someone to work on either Friday to Saturday or Saturday to Sunday.

Skills You Bring:

- Knowledge of child development, positive parenting, and family dynamics.
- Understanding and knowledge of familial and social issues affecting Indigenous families, including but not limited to intergenerational trauma, colonialism and residential schools, traditional wellness and healing practices and culture as therapy.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict.
- An understanding of integrated case management is an asset.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma in an area of study relevant to social/human service (e.g., Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, etc.) with at least 1-year experience working with children and/or youth, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience,
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record and use of own vehicle.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR & AED Level C certificate or ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
