**About the Organization**:
The Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle is a regional social planning and development organization. The BANAC service region now covers Simcoe County, Muskoka, and the northern York Region. BANAC works in cooperation with communities in areas of concern where coordinated efforts are required to meet the needs which positively impact the region. BANAC will continue in this social planning capacity, offering consultation and support for our community development. BANAC offers many innovative programs and services including, Family Wellness, Childcare, Seniors Care and Long-Term Care, Cultural Services, and wholistic Health Services through the Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team.
**About the Role**:
The Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Psychotherapist will be a part of the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program (formerly known as the Increasing Access to Structured Psychotherapy Program) in the North Simcoe Muskoka region. Ontario Structured Psychotherapy is a program funded by the Government of Ontario to provide individuals who are experiencing depression and/or anxiety (including obsessive-compulsive concerns and post-traumatic stress) with access to free cognitive behavioural therapy services. Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin partners with the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care and the B’saanibamaadsiwin Indigenous Mental Health Program at CMHA Muskoka Parry Sound to offer Indigenous-specific CBT grounded in Indigenous worldview and approaches to therapy to clients as well as to build capacity in the region for Indigenous-specific psychotherapy.
This 1.00 FTE position: CBT services for Indigenous clients. The CBT Psychotherapist will plan, conduct and deliver a program of individual and group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults with depressive and anxiety disorders. The role will also participate in a program evaluation in consultation with a CBT Psychologist and the Indigenous Evaluation Circle. The CBT Psychotherapist is responsible for supporting the ongoing expansion of the program and liaising with the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in a co-lead role on the Ontario Structure Psychotherapy work for the region.
**What you Bring**:
- Registered in the province of Ontario as a member in good standing with the appropriate college and eligible to provide psychotherapy as either a registered nurse, social worker, occupational therapist or registered psychotherapist.
- Master’s degree is preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the delivery of evidence-based CBT is preferred; documented evidence of CBT training with adequate supervision is preferred.
- Ability to provide indigenous culturally safe, trauma-informed care and services.
- Ability to understand cultural values, traditions, history.
- Ability to integrate Indigenous perspectives into services.
- Ability to respect individuals' experiences, foster healing.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the science and practices of psychotherapy including full range of psychotherapeutic assessment techniques.
- Demonstrated experience collecting, maintaining, and reporting program data and statistics to funders and leadership
- Understanding and knowledge of promotional activities including video, social media, in-person promotions, and written promotions.
- Knowledge and respect for Indigenous healing modalities
- Experience and skills working with Indigenous people is required.
- Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results.
- Strong assessment skills to deliver and interpret symptom and outcome measures.
- Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change.
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, organizational values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude with a commitment to wellness
