Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Payroll, Compensation and Benefits Specialist will provide support and administer compensation and benefit payroll programs and other forms of remuneration ensuring compliance with government regulations. Provide advice, interpretation, and guidance to management on diverse and complex payroll and benefit matters. He/she will work closely with Accounting and Finance for the accurate recording of payroll and benefits in the accounting system.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Process ADP new hire, change, and termination forms
- Administer and maintain the employee compensation and benefit plans, health, life, dental, travel, short/long term disability and GRSP
- Administer and maintain bi-weekly salaried payroll through ADP WFN system
- Monitor and administer all employees leaves of absences, days off, vacations.
- Complete month end reporting and coordinate third party payments for the finance team
- Perform post audits on payroll transactions, ensuring that payments are accurate and meet regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Complete year end requirements including reversals, reporting, reconciliations, accruals, pension, T4/T4A and T4 summary filings
- Ensure EHT and WSIB in compliance with corporate and government requirements
- Provide regular payroll/compensation management reporting and analysis
- Remain currently on federal and provincial legislation or regulations that may impact payroll and or benefit processing or administration.
- Calculation of taxable benefits, employee deductions, and advance payments
- Ensure cost center accuracy and adjustment
- Manage employee attendance records
- Complete Accounting tasks as in verify and reconcile government accounts, WSIB, CRA, taxable benefits
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Strong knowledge working with a payroll system WFN ADP, supporting multiple payrolls, unionized and non-unionized environment
- Bookkeeping knowledge
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal-provincial legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated, persistent, and flexible
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong knowledge of ADP, WFN system
- Ability to deal with confidential issues in a professional manner

**Qualifications**:

- 3 + years experience in a payroll and accounting/bookkeeping role
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certified
