Ghent Landscape is currently seeking a motivated individual looking to join our growing landscape team as a Softscape Crew Leader. Suitable team members are self-motivated, safety-minded leaders, that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis, and are comfortable with small hardscape and softscape projects. The Softscape Crew Leader will be responsible for a team of 2-3 people. Year round employment is available with our Snow Removal Winter Operations.

**Salary**: $25-$28/hour, dependent on experience

**Responsibilities**
- Lead a crew to complete softscape projects such as sodding, mulching, pruning, planting and site beautification
- Occasionally complete small hardscape projects such as interlock patios, retaining walls, and armour stone
- Safely and efficiently operate landscape construction hand tools and equipment
- Safely leading a landscape crew to complete onsite tasks
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Communicate with client and supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved
- Properly complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure team compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
- Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- At minimum a valid G license is required with a clean driving record
- Must be willing to work 40-50 hours per week and some weekends depending on work load
- Other duties will be assigned as required

**Desired Skills and Experience**
- 2-3 years experience in a landscape role
- Strong background in Softscape Landscaping
- Prior experience in a leadership role and delegating tasks is preferred
- Comfortable operating a truck and trailer
- Experience using equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators and other landscape equipment
- Ability to read and follow planting plans
- Previous experience completing small hardscape projects including patio repairs, armour stone, natural stone steps and retaining walls is an asset
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be safety-conscious
- Skill to troubleshoot solutions when problems arise
- Excellent team player
- Great communication skills
- Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
- Must be punctual and personable
- Must obtain WHMIS and Health and Safety training

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
