**Job Title**:Community Liaison

**This position reports to**the Executive Director

**1. Job Overview**:
a) The purpose of this position is to provide outreach and networking services for clients who are, or have been incarcerated, and are currently under the jurisdiction of the Correctional Services of Canada (CSC).

**2. Key Responsibilities**:
a) Connect with individuals in institutions who have expressed an interest in attending TTLL, in order to educate them about who we are and the programs we offer; and assess them for suitability to our programs

c) Provide after-care support while the client is reintegrating back into community

d) Maintain statistics for all contacts and interactions

e) Meet weekly with Executive Director to update

f) Submit monthly reports to the Executive Director

**3. Duties Include (but are not limited to)**:
a) Travel to institutions and interview individuals who are interested in attending TTLL

b) Determine their suitability for treatment and help prepare them for program

c) Attend treatment team meetings whenever possible, to seek assistance in assessing potential clients and to discuss the progress of individuals already in program

d) Network in community to locate available resources and how to access them

**4. Additional Responsibilities**:
a) a) Stay connected with clients attending TTLL and provide ongoing support to help them stay focused during treatment, as part of the team’s collective effort.

b) Provide after-care support to clients, by connecting them with appropriate community resources

c) Maintain confidential records in orderly manner

d) Compile reports as directed, including monthly travel reports and statistic reports

**5. Minimum Training/Experience Requirements**:
a) A university degree in counselling or the equivalent.

b) Proven experience counselling individuals who have trauma and addiction issues.

c) Experience working with individuals who have been incarcerated.

d) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

e) Good interpersonal skills and the ability to network with other organizations in community.

f) A willingness to travel and be away from home.

g) Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

h) Minimum of 2 years abstinence from alcohol and mind-altering drugs; Role model and maintain an abstinent lifestyle.

**6. Desired Additional Training/Experience Qualifications**:
a) Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

b) Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.

c) Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
