**Position Summary**:
The Project Manager, Decriminalization and Toxic Drug Response manages and oversees the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the decriminalization of small amounts of illicit substances for personal use and FNHA’s toxic drug response action plan to support First Nations communities and Indigenous Peoples to address the ongoing impacts of the toxic drug emergency. Manages and oversees FNHA’s role in supporting First Nations communities and Police/RCMP with their response to decriminalization. May represent the FNHA at various tables and working groups focused on decriminalization which includes building productive relationships with health authority leads across BC to ensure the needs of First Nations people are prioritized during this crisis. Prioritizes implementation of all aspects of the toxic drug response action plan including supporting initiative leads to plan, implement and evaluate, monitoring specific projects and recommending necessary adjustments along with ensuring clear briefings and communication with FNHA Executive and across the organization.

**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**

**Responsibilities**:
1. Works collaboratively and respectfully with First Nations and Indigenous partners, regional and provincial health authorities and internal initiative leads to ensure that the toxic drug response action plan is delivered in alignment with approved deliverables and within budget.
2. Develops full-scale project plans and schedules and proactively monitors progress to ensure projects are within the applicable schedule and budget
3. Monitors, anticipates and identifies project issues and risks, recommends solutions and work with senior management to implement solutions.
4. Utilizes project management processes, tools and templates, and ensures alignment with policies, standards and practices within FNHA.
5. Communicates effectively and manages project expectations with cross-organization partners and external partners in a timely and clear manner, ensuring that presentations and communications materials are appropriate for all audiences.
6. Creates executive briefings and provides regular reporting to FNHA Executive, FNHA Initiative Leads and Overdose Emergency Response partners in relation to the project work plan, achievements, evaluation, budget, risks and mitigation strategies.
7. Liaises with external partners to ensure the mental health and wellness of First Nations and Indigenous people are prioritized in their respective work plans and initiatives
8. Engages and aligns the toxic drug response to the overall work of the public health response team
9. Leads discussions with key stakeholders within the Overdose Emergency Response Centre, regional and provincial health authorities and internally to review and ensure alignment of work plans

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, Business, Health Informatics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of recent experience in managing multiple initiatives, and complex projects related to program implementation or business transformation preferably in a healthcare system or health organization
- Experience and or knowledge in harm reduction, decriminalization, addictions and/or mental health
- Proven experience in risk management and change management
- Proven experience in facilitating committee meetings
- Proven experience in the preparation of briefing documents for the senior executives
- Previous experience in managing multi-year
