**JOB SUMMARY**
- You are responsible for monitoring, controlling, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all mechanical/electrical systems for the City’s building systems.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Completion of 2 year college diploma in Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with CFC Certification
- Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance and operational experience on building environmental systems and services

**CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES**
- Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
- Current Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate card
- TSSA 4th class Operating/Power Engineer Certificate is an asset

**KNOWLEDGE**
- First Aid
- Computers (PC based)
- Modern building, mechanical and electrical systems
- Plumbing, HVAC systems
- Electronic and pneumatic controls
- Air handling systems
- Welding, brazing and soldering
- Preventative maintenance procedures
- Safety procedures
- Municipal and Provincial Health & Safety and Fire Regulations
- D.D.C. Systems (Honeywell, Johnstons, Andover, Omeran and Landis & Gyr)
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

**COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Read blueprints (Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Structural)
- Work effectively with others
- Write simple memoranda and maintain records on log sheets
- Write legibly
- Work independently with mínimal supervision
- Ability to conduct repairs from elevated platforms
- Alertness dependability, initiative
- Aptitude for mechanics & D.D.C. controls
- Good physical condition

**WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW**
- Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
- Driver’s License Requirement: A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
- You may initially be paid 95% of your starting rate of pay, in accordance with the collective agreement.
- Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
