General Maintenance Worker

Guelph, Canada Heritage House Retirement Home- Guelph Full time

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**
- Perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs
- Implement daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and cleaning as per job outline
- Maintain the property on a daily basis by; picking up garbage, lawn mowing, weed eating, landscaping, cleaning of building, and other various tasks as required
- Comply with all safety programs by adhering to established guidelines in the operation and storage of various equipment, tools, and chemicals. Report any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor as required
- Report all resident concerns, requests, or complains to the immediate supervisor and follow-up with customer if needed
- All assigned tasks completed on time
- Timely reporting of all resident concerns and requests, as well as follow-up and corrective action on the areas under the team member’s capabilities
- Using safe work practices to avoid accidents and injury of both residents and team members.
- Arriving to work on time and in proper uniform
- Must be able to safely operation various maintenance tools and equipment
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must be a quick learner
- An outgoing, friendly personality.
- Be reliable and have reliable transportation
- Willingness to pick up extra shifts (if needed)
- Have the ability to work independently without immediate direction by manager or supervisor, as well as in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures including chemical properties, handling and usage
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing

**Salary**: From $17.73 per hour
