**Ministry Overview**
The Finance team provides expert financial advice and services in all accounting and financial matters to the organization. We celebrate excellence as we support over 11 ministries and other operations departments within P2C. The finance team ensures that proper accountability, financial integrity, resources optimization, internal controls and compliance have been achieved all the time across the organization.

**Position Overview**
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position is responsible for coordinating accounts payable section which includes managing vendors’ accounts, bills payments, reimbursements and other accounting functions. This position also requires the process owner to identify and support business process improvements within the department.

**About the Role**
This role will be accountable to achieve the following outcomes:

- Ensure that weekly payment runs are processed and accurately completed on time
- Prepare cheques, direct deposits, and electronic fund transfers accurately
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis
- Prepare Asset Voucher and backup for Capital Assets processes as required
- Update AP process manual periodically
- Ensure that month-end and year-end closing reports are prepared
- Perform year-end closing procedures and prepare schedules requested on Prepare By Clients (PBC) by the External Auditors
- Acts as a back-up for the accounts payable staff
- Month-end and year-end closing reports are completed
- Year-end closing and preparation of schedules requested on PBC by the External Auditors
- Accurate financial status information reports are generated for the Ministries
- Other support duties as assigned

**Other Responsibilities**
- Active participation in weekly chapel services and other ministry prayer / bible study times
- Attendance and participation in the bi-annual International Day of Prayer
- Special projects as assigned by the Financial Controller

**About You**

- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You are proficient in Google Suite or equivalent
- You are personally organized, good steward of time
- You have used Accounting software with accounting data entry experience
- You are intellectually curious, exhibited strong skills in problem-solving, comfortable in asking questions, and enjoys investigating and research

**Education and Experience**
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Commerce.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience including Accounts Payable and handling banking transactions minimum 5 years.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Google spreadsheet or similar program considered an asset.
