Black Maple Construction is a general contractor specializing in the construction of multi-family homes in the Lower Mainland. We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to support our busy accounting department. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to learn various skills while working with a dynamic team.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will play a vital role in our team by interacting with vendors, reviewing purchase orders, and processing invoices to ensure that all vendors are paid in a timely manner.

We are looking for a proactive individual who can positively contribute to our finance department while ensuring accuracy in our accounts payable processes. If you have a passion for numbers and a commitment to excellence, we encourage you to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Managing the accounts payable mailbox.
- Processing invoices from sub-trades and suppliers following the company’s internal control procedures.
- Reconciling vendors' statements.
- Prepare monthly EFT payments.
- Maintain new and existing vendor information.
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies.
- Follow-up with vendors regarding Statutory Declaration.
- Administer the Builder’s Llien Holback process.
- Assisting with various accounting tasks as assigned (financial reporting, budget updates, month-end and year-end closing tasks, and other accounting duties as needed).
- Provide general office support to senior management.

To become a part of our accounting team, you will have to:

- Strong foundation of basic accounting.
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 is preferred. We gladly train an applicant who is eager to learn.
- 2-3 years of experience in an office setting.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Background in construction industry would be an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
