Job Title: Site Supervisor (Residential New Construction)

Reports to: Construction Manager

**Job Type**: Permanent Full-Time

Location: Chatham, ON

**ROLE SUMMARY**:
Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, the Site Supervisorwill be responsible for supervising on-site sub-trades and suppliers for various single-detached, townhome and multi-residential projects. The Site Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring that projects are constructed according to plans, on schedule and on budget while strictly adhering to all health and safety regulations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
General
- Deliver completed construction projects on schedule and on budget, from excavation/foundation to completion of 30 day lists after closing
- Ensure job trailer and job site are maintained in an orderly, clean and secure manner
- Perform any other reasonable duties that maybe required and or requested by Management
- Review schedules and ensure projects are adhering to same
- Book all required inspections through-out construction

Supervision
- Ensures construction work is being carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, zoning/building bylaws, OBC and company policy
- Coordinate each sub-trade to ensure smooth and continuous on site progress and ensure workmanship is satisfactory and the proper materials are used
- Arrange for miscellaneous labour as required to complete project
- Order materials as necessary to complete project and return packing slips and receipts to office administration
- Manage usage of company tools and assets and ensure safekeeping of same
- Provide leadership, instruction and supervision to all construction workers, including site staff, contractors and suppliers as well as visitors to site

Communication
- Report any drawing and or specification discrepancies to design team
- Liaison with General Contractors, sub-trades, architects, engineers and Head Office, ensuring communication and prompt resolution of problems
- Prepare daily job logs documenting all on-site activities
- Prepare work orders and purchase orders as required and communicate with head office administration

Health & Safety
- Enforce Health and Safety policies and ensure all on-site personnel are following all safety regulations and company policies
- Ensure all paperwork as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act are posted and up to date
- Ensure safety stations are available as required by law and properly maintained/safety talks

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a site supervisor role for residential projects including experience building residential houses
- Organized and effective in dealing with conflict resolution and people management
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings, grading plans, etc
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Google Drive, Gmail)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Experience/knowledge with: Drywalling, Carpentry, Wood Framing, Ontario Building Code, Fire separation requirements

Other requirements needed:

- Residential homebuilding experience
- Reading construction drawings and prints
- Filing necessary permits with local municipality
- Dealing with City inspectors
- Tarion experience strongly recommended
- Driving heavy machinery (Ex. bobcat, mini excavator)
- Towing and backing up trailers
- Working with Ministry of Labor
