**Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX**:

- As the Product Development Lead - Hardgoods, you lead a specialized technical team of Product Developers and oversee the development of our most technical products. You manage product from design maker phase through to production, while ensuring a consistent level of quality, fit, and performance. You are the technical development expert, and you lead with integrity and by example, providing overall leadership, support and coaching to the Product Developers. Your innovative and solutions-focused approach to development, ensures that each product you and your team work on meets Arc’teryx design intent and brand integrity requirements.

**Meet your future team**:

- We are a small, high performing team that works closely with all aspects of product creation. The work we do behind the scenes supports Designers and Product Developers to accomplish go-to-market deliverables. You will be part of a focused team of Product Developers, Designers, Design Developers, Pattern Makers, and a Cut & Sew team that works on creating innovative product. Our team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners to realize ideas into commercialized successes.

**If you were in the Product Development Lead role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for**:

- Guiding a high performing team of Product Developers to partner closely with Design, Fit, and Quality teams to deliver pre-production worthy samples and specifications
- Managing the workload between team members and partnering with the Product Operations team on calendar requirements to ensure timelines are met throughout product creation process
- Reporting team performance metrics regularly to leadership team (e.g. product category execution against the corporate calendar, workflow, team capacity vs. line list requirements)
- Maintaining consistent communication between Design, Fit, and Quality teams to ensure standard practices, consistent fit, and pattern and construction methods are established and upheld
- Contributing to quality processes and the creation of accurately produced prototypes, through regular Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation maintenance and the use of standard spec documentation
- Partnering with the Sourcing team to communicate product development expectations, timelines and costing concerns to T1 factories
- Managing a limited repertoire of complex models as the technical expert
- Ensuring that Arcteryx brand standards are consistently met

**Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future**:

- Testing product in the field with the Hardgoods Design team
- Introducing new technologies and designs to T1 factories
- Documenting new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) from concept to production
- Collaborating with Quality and Design teams on design for manufacturing
- Contributing to design sprints and Research & Development (R&D) projects

**Are you our next Product Development Lead?**:

- You have 8+ years’ experience in product development role, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at a senior level (developing product/process) with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and / or equipment
- You have an Undergraduate Degree, or the equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
- You have experience effectively communicating with and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- You have experience in product costing and negotiation skills
- You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fit
- You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer
- You have an extensive knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
- You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- You have a proven mentorship ability
- You are proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
- You demonstrate initiative, agility and commitment
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You are goal driven with a results-oriented attitude
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
