We're looking for an **Accounting Co-op**to join our high performing and fast-paced accounting team for a full-time 4-month co-op starting in May. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounting Co-op will assist the Accounting team with processing accounts payable, month-end reconciliations, and updating company records. This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp and curious student to take their knowledge into practice and learn more about an exciting industry with unique challenges.

**In this role, you can expect to**:

- Process accounts payable including communicating with external and internal business partners, validating, processing, and recording invoices
- Set up vendors in the systems
- Review internal expense reports along with corporate credit card reconciliations
- Prepare intercompany journal entries related to the recording of invoices
- Assist with the preparation of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash and prepaids
- Prepare and update process documentation to ensure that certain accounting policies and internal procedures can be memorialized in writing
- Other ad-hoc tasks and/or projects as opportunities arise

**Your background includes**:

- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution seeking a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Completion of fundamental accounting courses
- Pursuing a CPA designation is an asset but not required
- Practical general accounting experience in a professional or volunteer setting
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication, both written and verbal
- Solid proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly in Excel), and Google Workspace/G-Suite
- Proven track record of being self-directed along with exceptional organization and research skills
- Flexible and willing to go that extra mile to gain more knowledge and experience
- Demonstrate the capacity to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities while remaining calm and controlled

The typical hiring range for this position located in Vancouver is between 24-26/hr. The salary will be determined based on your knowledge, skills and competencies, and you’ll have room to grow after you join
