This includes using techniques and strategies to communicate “I care and I respect you,” providing information in a way patients and families can understand, listening to patients and families to learn what an exemplary healthcare experience means to them, and seeking their perspective throughout their stay and during improvement initiatives. **Qualifications**: - Grade 12 graduate or equivalent of required - Cook certification to practice in Ontario required - Successful completion of a Post Secondary Program preferred - Basic Food Safety certification required- - **Skill, Ability and Experience**: - Basic proficiency in the use of computers required - Ability to meet the physical demands of this job required - Experience in food service in a hospital, long term care facility or institution preferred- - **Principal Duties**: - Tempering food according to production sheet schedule and patient menu for each meal each day - Panning of food products according to patient menu, tally counts and panning guidelines - Maintain a clean and safe work environment - Preparation of cooked items as required for menus and patient events - Ensure HACCP procedures are followed through food cycle - Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives - Completes continuing education requirements as necessary - Other related duties as assigned- Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement- We thank you in advance for your interest in Bluewater Health, however, only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
