The Insignia Hotel Sarnia, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is situated in the quaint town of Sarnia in Ontario, Canada. The hotel was built in the ‘60’s and was the pride of the community. In 2018, the hotel was transformed into the luxurious boutique hotel that it is known as today. The Insignia Hotel is a pet-friendly hotel in Sarnia and features 84 rooms and upcoming premium meeting and event space, fitness center, and indoor pool.

Our Banquet has opened we are looking for a **Banquet Prep Cook / Breakfast Cook **whoundertakes basic prepping and cookies duties, such as preparing sauces for an event. Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash. Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly. On the days there are no events, we are looking for someone to do a hot buffet breakfast in Legacy Restaurant.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Perform routine kitchen tasks.
- Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
- Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
- Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
- Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
- Cook breakfast buffet
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 Years cooking experience
- Food Handler's Certificate
- Must be detail oriented and quality conscious
- Must be able to follow instructions given by the Banquet Chef

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
