Whytecliff Agile Learning Centres (walc.ca), accredited by the BC Ministry of Education, is looking for an experienced Youth Development Worker to join our Langley, BC campus. **A Little About Us**

Whytecliff Agile Learning Centres are the only BC Independent Schools that are also dual-accredited as therapeutic Positive Youth Development Programs by CARF, the same organization that accredits BC hospitals.

At **Whytecliff**, we work with approximately **45 incredible students in grades 8-12** who bring a range of diverse learning needs and personal challengesincluding **anxiety, depression, dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD**.

What makes Whytecliff different? We focus on student strengths, interests, and wellness, offering a personalized educational experience in a calm, welcoming, and engaging setting. We build real connections with our students and integrate fun, hands-on, and movement-based learningfrom music and art to hiking with Outward Bound.

**Who We're Looking For**

Were seeking a warm, engaging, and adaptable individual with experience working directly with youth in educational, community, or mentorship settings. Previous work in Positive Youth Development or supporting diverse learning needs is an asset. The right person is:

- **A natural mentor & role model**you can build authentic connections with youth, guiding them with positivity, patience, and care.
- **Organized & adaptable**youre skilled at juggling multiple tasks, thinking on your feet, and adjusting plans to fit students needs.
- **A team player with initiative**you work well in a **s**mall, collaborative setting, but you also step up and take action without waiting for direction.
- **Passionate about mental wellness & growth**youre genuinely interested in helping kids build confidence, self-awareness, and life skills.
- **Comfortable leading activities**whether its facilitating a group discussion, supporting an outdoor adventure, or engaging students in a creative project.

**Education Requirement**:Bachelors degree required (Masters preferred), ideally in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, counseling, therapeutic recreation, etc.

**The Role: What Youll Be Doing**

This role blends youth mentorship, activity coordination, and program support in a positive, student-centered setting. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- **Building relationships & providing mentorship**Being a steady, supportive presence for students and fostering a sense of belonging.
- **Supporting experiential learning & engagement**Assisting with field trips, extracurricular projects, and group activities.
- **Helping with daily operations**Supporting classroom engagement, program logistics, and student wellness initiatives.
- **Encouraging students to take part in activities that help them grow**Whether it's exploring new interests, developing confidence, or building social skills.
- **Bonus**:If you have a background in recreation, arts, mental health, or social-emotional learning, wed love to incorporate your strengths
