**Position Description**:
SickKids serves a diverse population of patients and families by offering holistic comprehensive services across a wide range of clinical specialties. The Department of Psychology at the Hospital for Sick Children is currently recruiting for a Psychometrist who, under the direction and supervision of a registered psychologist, will carry out the administration, scoring, and data management of all psychometric testing and clinical assessments of children and adolescents (ages 3-18). Specifically, the Psychometrist should have specialized knowledge of test administration of functioning and social-emotional well-being associated with mental health diagnosis and treatment within the context of the child's developmental history and family functioning. The psychometrist will primarily work with school-age children and adolescents with a variety of complex physical and mental health conditions presenting to the Department of Psychiatry (e.g., attention and learning concerns in the context of mental health disorders). The Psychometrist may also become involved with on-going research projects, including managing the clinical database, and other duties as required.

- Work within a fast-paced environment; efficiently manage, triage, and assess a varied caseload under specific required timelines within a child and family centred approach to care
- Managing clinical services by maintaining accurate wait lists, contacting families to make clinical appointments, gathering initial referral data and history
- Under the direction of the Clinical Psychologist, carry out psychoeducational assessments to understand a child¿s cognitive functioning and learning profile while considering his/her/their mental health and physical health l histories.
- Administering and scoring developmental, cognitive, and educational assessments for patients and families
- Observing and reporting on relevant patient behaviour during test sessions and adapts interactions as necessary to work successfully with patient
- Scoring, norming and summarizing psychological test data based on accurate and efficient scoring procedures as delineated in test manuals
- Assisting in educating clinical trainees with psychoeducational testing and scoring
- Keeping up to date with new tests or versions of tests as they become available
- Managing psychological and clinical databases and ensuring complete and accurate records are kept for future reference, program evaluation and quality assurance
- Supporting departmental education and contributing to departmental function by serving on committees, mentoring new employees, attending departmental meetings
- Participating in ongoing and emerging clinical projects as required
- Ensuring that hospital administrative policy and privacy requirements are adhered to

**Here's What You'll Need**
- Master Degree in Psychology (Bachelor in Psychology with experience will be considered)
- Previous psychometric testing and assessment experience with children/adolescents
- Experience working with children / adolescents with behavioural or internalizing difficulties.
- Superior critical thinking, organizational and time management skills, and highly attentive to detail
- Ability to use observational skills to identify issues beyond test scores
- Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications
- Exercising sound judgement, diplomacy, and tact, in interacting with a diverse population.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, work independently and collaboratively with members of a large interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in culturally competent practice, and extensive understanding of the importance of health equity, diversity, and inclusion in the delivery of healthcare services
- Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Social sensitivity, diplomacy and relationship-building / management
- Knowledge of child & adolescent psychosocial development and psych
