About the Role
Axiom Builders is seeking a motivated Accounting Coordinator to support the team in a variety of accounting related areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit documentation. As part of a fast-paced team, this role is an opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain experience with high volume, complex accounting while servicing numerous stakeholders both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize subcontractor HB packages;
- Deposit and ensure accurate entry of cheques/eft receivables;
- Assist with reviewing and entering subcontractor progress draws;
- Sync subcontractor progress draws using Acumatica for seamless integrations and real-time project tracking;
- Conduct thorough reviews of AP/AR aging for projects, proactively identifying overdue invoices;
- Assist in compiling audit documentation and coding invoices;
- Gather invoice copies for construction management (CM) billing jobs;
- Assist with efficiently tracking business licenses;
- Support the team to collect statutory declarations and workers compensation board clearance letters on a monthly basis;
- Support with ad-hoc tasks as necessary.

What you Bring
The ideal Accounting Coordinator is a fast learner, attentive to detail, coupled with exceptional organizational and time management skills that allow them to work quickly, as well as accurately, in a results-oriented environment. This person will have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team, while always demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic attitude. We are looking for someone who excels at interpersonal relations and is comfortable reaching out to a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the business, both on site and office.
Skills and Experience
- At least one to two (1-2) years of experience in accounting, administration, bookkeeping or a related field;
- Degree, diploma, or certification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field;
- Excellent business communication skills, with both verbal and written communications;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- Proficient at working in a digital and paper-free environment;
- Experience with Acumatica ERP or Sage/Timberline systems will be considered an asset;
- Prior experience in a construction or job costing environment will be considered an asset.
