**Responsibilities**:
As a Security Guard with FLASH SECURITY, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our client’s safety and security. You will use your communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to remain calm under pressure, think quickly on your feet, and maintain a professional manner. Our Security Guards must always project a professional image for our clients.

**Main Responsibilities**:
FLASH SECURITY is Canada’s leading provider of security solutions. Our company specializes in hiring and training security professionals to meet all of our client’s needs. At FLASH SECURITY we have partnered with many major companies in securing, Retail Stores, office buildings, commercial properties, warehouses, distribution centers, hospitals, condominiums, and residential sites. Currently, we are seeking Security Guards for one of our major client sites.

**Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions**
- Patrol premises regularly to ensure the safety and security of the property.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms to detect and respond to security breaches.
- Provide emergency response to incidents, including medical emergencies, fires, and natural disasters.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of all security-related activities.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, clients, and visitors.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to detect any unauthorized entry or suspicious activity.
- Must be living near Markham and have a G license.
- Must have a vehicle
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid security guard license or certification
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Valid Security Guard license with the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ security experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Security experience in a mental health care setting preferred
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal legislation pertinent to Security Operations including the Mental Health Act
- Knowledge of the Fire Code and use of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment
- Demonstrated non-violent Crisis Intervention skills and verbal de-escalation skills
- Ability to react to and coordinate response to a variety of stressful and crisis situations
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills in emergent and critical situations
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to situations that are an obvious significant safety risk
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and public relations skills, communication skills both oral and written, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner
- Advanced investigation skills and detailed report writing skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Ability to adapt and work within a constantly changing environment and within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of essential duties of the position
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional development
- Demonstrated acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
