A career in National Bank Financial Markets is working in an entrepreneurial and stimulating environment. The Treasury funding team is responsible of the management and execution of National Bank funding. The mandate covers short-term programs, long-term funding platforms as well as other secured funding conduits. The activities are executed across our Montreal, Toronto, New York and London offices. A close collaboration exists with the Global Securities Finance team and other related Treasury teams. The funding team is also responsible of the liquidity risk management of the bank in addition to internal liquidity pricing via various funding curves.

This opportunity will appeal to highly motivated individuals with capacity to work under pressure. The associate will report to the Managing Director and Head of Funding.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the daily funding operations, secured and unsecured, of the Treasury
- Participate in the FX trading activities while maximizing arbitrage revenues
- Participate in the collateral management of the Bank
- Support and coordinate funding activities with foreign centers
- Participate in liquidity, interest rate, basis and FX risk management
- Support the Managing Director and Head in producing rigorous analysis
- Work in close relationship with the Global Securities Finance and deposits solutions teams
- Participate in the management and optimization of effective and regulatory liquidity metrics
- Follow thoroughly financial markets and economic news
- Contribute to PnL target of Treasury
- Propose and execute strategies in the market to generate and optimize Treasury’s revenues
- Support the Director - Term Funding with analysis and tools development
- Maintain and develop good relationship with internal and external partners

**Required Skills**:

- Completed Bachelor's degree, related to the industry, and 2 years of relevant experience or completed Master's degree, related to the industry
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Strong understanding of various financial products (Funding, Rates, FX, Derivatives)
- Superior analytical and technical skills
- Rigor, ability to pay attention to details and versatility
- Excellent teamwork abilities
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will frequently interact with service providers or partners who speak a language other than French

**Preferred Skills**:

- Bloomberg terminal knowledge
- Programming knowledge
- Some experience in trading
