**The Opportunity**

**Your responsibilities may include**:

- Provide expert advice on actuarial assumptions and reports, methodologies, and long-term funding strategies, ensuring alignment with plan objectives.
- Leading the review of data required for actuarial valuations, projection valuations, experience studies, and other projects to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Lead the evaluation and refinement of plan funding policies, assessing risks and the impact of plan design changes to ensure long-term sustainability and regulatory alignment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Actuarial Standards and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, including the Income Tax Act (Canada), The Pension Benefits Act, 1992 (Saskatchewan), and relevant legislation for Saskatchewan public sector pension and benefit plans.
- Act as a key point of contact for external actuaries, trustees, and leadership teams.
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate actuarial insights to non-technical audiences.

- Strong understanding of pension funding, actuarial modeling, and regulatory frameworks, including knowledge of defined benefit pension plans, benefit plans, and the relevant legislation such as the Income Tax Act (Canada), The Pension Benefits Act, 1992 (Saskatchewan), and provincial pension and benefit plan legislation.
- Experience evaluating and advising on funding policies and contribution strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with advanced Excel skills for actuarial analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Exceptional facilitation and communication skills to develop reports, analyze results and present complex issues and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
- A track record of leading high-performing teams with an inclusive, engaged and accountable culture.

**Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through a combination of**:

- A post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (foreign equivalent degrees accepted).
- Fellow or Associate of a recognized actuarial body (FCIA, ASA, FSA).
- 7+ years of experience in actuarial consulting, pension plan management, or a related field.
- PPAC or other pension-related certifications are an asset.
