Department mission

The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services

**General responsibilities and goals**:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Cultural Activities, the Instructor is responsible for planning and leading a Scottish Country Dancing workshop for adults, aimed at learning dance techniques.

**The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows**:

- Prepare and teach hip-hop choreographies adapted to the age group;
- Ensure the well-being and safety of the children.
- Supervising all participants and making corrections to movements as needed to avoid injuries;
- Ensuring safety for activities;
- Ensuring various policies and procedures are applied and followed at all times;
- Ensuring members are highly motivated and having fun;
- Helping provide logístical support and equipment for activities;
- Taking attendance during classes and filling out management reports needed for statistics;
- Performing any other related tasks.

**Job requirements**:

- Certification or training from a dance school or in teaching dance;
- A minimum of 2 years experience in teaching this dance;
- Dynamic, upbeat personality and attentive;
- Good communication and listening skills;
- Independent and responsible nature;
- Ability to motivate;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Bilingual;
- Up-to-date first-aid certification (an asset).
