Safety & Compliance Co-ordinator

**JBT Group of Companies** is seeking a Safety & Compliance Co-Ordinator professional to join our team located in Ayr, ON.
**Primary Objective**: To take direction and work with the Safety Manager.. The Safety & Compliance Co-Ordinator must be an effective communicator that is able to liaise with drivers and other operational departments. The Safety & Compliance Co-Ordinator must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conducts and or assists with accident/collision and incident investigation
- Coordinates worksite safety inspection
- Identify, correct and communicate unsafe conditions
- Coordination of training and re-certification
- Oversees training records and driver file information
- Assists in compiling key performance safety indicators
- Member of the Safety and Health committee
- Promote a sound safety culture
- Ensure policies, procedures and standards meet or exceed legislated requirements
- Communicate and monitor safety process in a participatory manner
- Develop and implement corrective actions
- Ensures discipline for safety violations is applied
- Works with and assists with audits
- Manage identified risks
- Develop and implement inspection policies and processes
- Assists external and internal auditing processes
- Make sure necessary safety equipment is provided, used properly, and maintained
- Inform workers and supervisors of any hazards and how to handle them
- Ensure that safe procedures are followed in the workplace
- Provide information, instruction, and competent supervision to protect the health and safety of workers
- Ensures all drivers and owner operators are in good standing for regulatory requirements for TDG, medicals, and driver’s license renewals
- Responsible for ensuring good understanding of contractual obligations of the Company regarding owner operators
- Back up to ensure all Owner Operators have coverage under Worker’s Compensation
- Ensures Work process documentation is up to date as well as interoffice and driver reference manuals
- First-Aid updating/scheduling
- Whimis updating/testing
- Leads by example with integrity
**Qualifications**:
- Experience working in safety related field
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good geographical knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
- Good organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team
**Requirements**:
- must have own transportation
- must live within an hour of Ayr, ON

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
