**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
As a Cannabis Cultivation Specialist, your role is pivotal in our production operations, as you work alongside a dedicated team of passionate growers to ensure the development of high-quality cannabis products. Your keen attention to detail, scientific understanding of plant biology, and love for horticulture will be instrumental in achieving outstanding results.

Some of your responsibilities as a Cannabis Cultivator will include:

- Collaborating with our expert team at all stages of cannabis production, from seed to final sale, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Nurturing cannabis plants throughout their growth cycle, using integrated pest management and preventive measures.
- Implementing and following standard operating procedures, and adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
- Maintaining and calibrating cultivation equipment to optimize plant health and productivity.
- Accurate record-keeping and documentation of cultivation activities to ensure traceability and compliance with regulations.
- Practicing effective irrigation and watering techniques, working with a variety of both manual and automated systems.
- Skillfully trimming and maintaining the health of live plants throughout their growth cycle.
- Assisting in research and development of cultivation procedures, collaborating closely with senior cultivation team members to explore innovative cultivation techniques.
- Processing and packaging dried cannabis with the utmost precision and attention to detail.
- Maintaining and sanitizing all cultivation equipment, workstations, and facilities to uphold a safe and hygienic environment.
- Safely handling concentrated materials, such as cleaning agents and concentrated fertilizers or nutrients, while following strict safety-oriented procedures.

**Requirements**:

- A degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution in a related scientific field such as Agriculture, Biology, or Horticulture.
- A strong background in agri-science or horticulture in a GAP and HACCP regulated environment, and a general proficiency in plant maintenance and cultivation practices.
- At least one year of experience in growing cannabis or similar cultivation experience in horticulture or a related field.
- Availability on weekends or holidays.
- Located in the Edmonton Area or able to reliably commute.
- Ability to work in hot and humid grow spaces with bright lights (with provided PPE).
- Performing physical activities for the duration of the shift (standing, walking, moving equipment, stairs) including repetitive movements (trimming, packaging, planting).
- Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs (22kg).
- Comfortable with squatting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection while working.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide proof upon employment.

**Preference given to those with knowledge in**:

- Common plant pathogens, diseases, and pests, including identification, causes, and treatments.
- Cannabis plant health, growing conditions, and large-scale production practices.
- General plant anatomy and physiology, light response, and development.
- Indoor horticultural watering systems.
- GPP, GMP, and GLP, as well as other cannabis regulatory practices.

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
