Overview:
**Duties**:

- Remove and dispose of garbage and recycling from all garbage rooms daily.
- Water and weed flower beds and maintain pond.
- Maintain stairwells in a safe and clean manner.
- Maintain basement area in a safe and clean manner.
- Clean carpets when necessary.
- Maintain the outside of building in a safe and clean manner.
- Provide assistance as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Clean rooms vacated by residents and prepare rooms for incoming residents.
- Check maintenance book on a regular basis and address issues when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of safety and security for residents, staff, visitors and guests.
- Follow all company policies and procedures including fire and safety programs.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Previous maintenance/janitorial/groundskeeping experience, preferably in a retirement home.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to do extensive standing, walking, squatting, kneeling and moving of heavy objects.
- Ability to use motorized equipment i.e. lawn mower and snow blower.
- Must be willing to work as a team player and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Must provide a police check.
- Bilingualism is an asset

Pay: From $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
