The National Judicial Institute (NJI) is an independent, bilingual, not‐for‐profit organization, based in Ottawa and Montreal, with a mandate to coordinate and deliver educational programming to members of the judiciary across Canada.
Since its inception in 1988, the NJI has continued to develop and deliver stimulating programs and a variety of digital resources that foster judicial excellence. These resources include Judicial Education Guides, Electronic Bench Books, educational modules to assist in program design, and an online judicial library. As part of its curriculum, the NJI offers over 70 judicial education programs each year. Alone or in partnership with courts and other organizations, the NJI is involved in the delivery of the majority of education taken by judges in Canada.
The NJI is looking to fill the position of Project Officer, Digital Education. This position will be based in Ottawa and requires fluent bilingualism.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Officer (PO) supports the process of planning, scheduling, and maintaining NJI’s full suite of Digital Education (DE) products (i.e. self-study courses and guides, webinars, podcasts, publications, tools, resources). The PO is responsible for supporting, contributing, and collaborating on projects.
They provide administrative support in developing, building, and maintaining project workplans and workflows and are also responsible for meeting project objectives and deliverables. The PO provides support for the logistics of virtual and in-person meetings for the department. They are also encouraged to create and innovate.
They provide peer to peer support and contribute to the growth of DE as a centre of excellence. In this respect, they research, trial new apps and technology and may be asked to support, develop, and contribute to the review of process guides, templates and best practices checklists, and other digital education resources as required. They also support and provide guidance to other teams to navigate, explore, and promote NJI’s DE suite.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
**1. Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (or**: an equivalent combination of experience, training and education);
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in, but not limited to project, event, and meeting coordination;
3. Fluently bilingual in French and English (R/W/O);
4. Proficiency with Microsoft 365; and
5. Proficiency in Project Management Software, such as Asana.
Desirable
1. Proficiency with online meeting platforms (i.e., Microsoft Teams and Zoom).
