Reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, General Dynamics Mission Systems International as well as the Vice President, Information Technology and CIO of General Dynamics Mission Systems (US).As Chief Digital & Information Officer, your mandate is to turn digital strategy into operational advantage by modernizing core platforms, securing enterprise systems, and enabling mission-critical programs to operate faster and with full compliance. You will lead a defence-grade security posture, safeguard critical information assets, and ensure rigorous adherence to global regulatory standards. Through cloud transformation, automation, and AI-enabled analytics, you will drive enterprise efficiency and smarter decision-making. Leading a global IT organization, you will build a high-performing inclusive team. If you are a visionary leader who thrives on turning complex, multi‑site IT challenges into secure, innovative, business‑driving outcomes, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on the safety of nations and the future of defence technology—starting from within.What you will lead & Own:Digital Strategy & Transformation: Define and execute an enterprise digital roadmap that aligns cloud migration, AI/ML enablement, automation, and modern workplace initiatives with revenue and program delivery goals.Security, Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain CMMC Level 2 (NIST 800-171) and position the business for CMMC Level 3 (800-172), ISO 27001, IEC 62443, ITAR/EAR, UK Export Control, Cyber Essentials Plus compliance across Canada, UK, and international sites.Financial & Vendor Strategy: Steward a $20 30 M IT budget, drive cost efficiencies through cloud right sizing, SaaS rationalization, and automation. Negotiate strategic contracts with cloud providers, system integrators, and classified government suppliers.People & Culture Leadership: Build and inspire a 100+ person, multi site digital organization. Drive a culture of inclusive, hybrid work, continuous learning, and cross functional collaboration.Stakeholder & Executive Partnership:Serve as a senior member of both the Mission Systems IT Leadership Team and the GDMS‑I Executive Leadership Team, translating business needs into technology solutions and communicating vision to all levels of the organization.Performance & Reporting: Deliver regular reporting on service availability, security incidents, budget variance, and transformation milestones.QualificationsRequired10+ years progressive IT leadership; 5+ years in senior executive role; proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams (100+ staff) in a matrix environment.Strong understanding of modern cloud environments, digital platforms, data/AI enablement, secure architectures, and enterprise applications.Hands‑on experience operating a Defence‑grade SOC and maintaining CMMC, ITAR/EAR, ISO 27001, IEC 62443 compliance.Managed IT budgets > $20 M; demonstrated cost‑reduction or efficiency‑gain programs.Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, IS or related field (Master’s preferred).Strong strategic thinker, excellent communicator, and influencer at C‑suite level. Willingness to travel 30‑40 % (Canada, UK, US, customer sites).Nice to have:Experience in defence or aerospace organizations.Certifications in cloud architecture (, Azure Solutions Architect), cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM).Prior involvement with ISO 9001, SOX, or similar enterprise governance frameworks.Familiarity with overhead‑rate models and profit‑center accounting.PMI‑ACP, PMP, or equivalent project‑management certification.Experience with AI‑driven predictive maintenance or design automation.It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed.
