CITYEDGE VISION CENTRE is a specialized ophthalmology practice with a fully equipped refractive cataract surgery suite. We pride ourselves on being a community-based medical eye care with a wide range of services and are an accredited out of hospital premises (OHP). We offer a supportive small team environment and are looking for a new medical device reprocessing technician to join our member

Unlike some surgical centres, we have strong patient-provider relationships. On surgery day, patients spend approximately 1-2 hours at the centre. While our aim is to ensure efficiency and may be considered a fast-paced environment, we maintain a moderate volume of procedures which allows patients and surgical team members to feel both comfortable, competent and efficient in delivery standards of care that we all deserve.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, a desire to work as a team, and the ability to multi-task.

Our MDRT is responsible for reprocessing instruments used during cataract surgery (including decontamination, cleaning, inspecting, reprocessing, storage and maintaining logbooks and documentation as per infection presentation and control standards.

This is currently a Part-Time Casual Position; alternating Tuesdays (7:30am-appx 4pm); schedule provided 3-6 months in advance. Experience in ophthalmology is an asset. Additional opportunities expected as part of our growing practice in the coming months with additional surgical days to be added to the schedule in 2023 each month.

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
