**Junior Investment Strategist**
**What you'll be working on**- Collect and analyze industry, company and economic information from a variety of sources including websites, institutional research, corporate reports and industry publications- Prepare formal and ad hoc written reports for the team on industry and sector trends- Communicate market positioning ideas to Investment Strategist- Learn main drivers of different sectors and geographies- Build and maintain chart package to be used in presentations- Use tools like Bloomberg, Excel and Python to collect and analyze data to help Investment Strategist and team draw useful conclusions- Organize available information and data effectively in order to build and maintain spreadsheet models for both valuation and monitoring purposes- Present conclusions to Investment Strategist and team- Keep abreast of portfolio strategy, developments in the Canadian and Global economic and political environment and fluctuations in the capital markets- Maintain statistics on the various indicies regarding exposures, valuation parameters and other metrics.- Perform other special projects related to investment or theme ideas for the Investment Strategist as required- Support Investment Strategist in preparing client informational pieces- Support Investment Strategist in marketing investment capabilities including making presentations to existing and potential clients- Prepare materials for Company Board of Directors meetings- Contribute in Strategy meetings
- Develop skills in derivatives to be able to support Investment Strategist and team with ideas
**What you'll need to have**- 0-5 years work experience in investments within the financial services industry- Highly curious and motivated to learn- CFA or working towards-
- Well-developed mathematical skills- Strong research, financial modeling, risk management and derivative scenario concept skills or highly motivated to learn- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to present information clearly to a diverse audience- Ability to plan tactically and/or plan strategically- Attention to detail/accuracy- Ability to think logically, analyze and/or solve problems- Basic Python skills desirable
**Working Conditions**- Office environment- Prolonged periods of concentration and attention to detail- Travel may be required- May be required to work extended hours
