We are currently seeking an energetic self-starter to join our team as a full-time **QA Technician**
**About this opportunity**:
The Q.A. Technician is responsible for monitoring individual packing/processing lines to ensure product is in compliance with all required regulatory, customer, and internal company specifications.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Ensure that all Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices are followed.
- Train and educate production personnel in food safety, allergens, good manufacturing practices (GMP), sanitation and HACCP.
- Communicate with production and maintenance departments on various quality issues. Participate in resolving quality issues.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Complete all records and documentation related to their functions.
- Conduct internal Sanitation and GMP Audits.
- Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging.
- Monitor product quality during production and processing, by physical and chemical testing as required. Product must be visually examined, and sensory evaluated.
- Perform analytical testing (e.g. salt, roast colour, residual oxygen) in packaged products.
- Participate in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Specifications, Quality Control and Processing Procedures.
- Perform calibration of testing equipment.
- Review labels for accurate ingredient declaration and compliance to regulations.
- Works safely and follows legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.
- Any addition duties as required-in adherence to JVF GMP policies
**Your qualifications**:
- Knowledge and experience with Labelling and Labelling Regulations preferably for both Canada and USA.
- 2-years post-secondary education program or equivalency
- Food Safety Background preferred
- 1 year of experience in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently
- Excellent data entry and strong organizational skills
- Strong time management and administrative skills with a keen attention to detail
- Solid oral and written communication skills including effective listening
