**Your** **Opportunity**

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the **Director of Quality, Risk and Education **is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives that enhance the overall effectiveness of care, services, and quality of life at Knollcrest Lodge. This role encompasses leading our Quality Improvement Initiatives, Risk Mitigation and Education Management programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

**Key** **Responsibilities**:

- Strategic Leadership:_
- Uphold and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Knollcrest Lodge.
- Serve as a backup to the Director of Resident Care when they are not on site or on leave, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making.
- Collaborate with the leadership and nursing teams to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance care quality and operational efficiency.
- Lead change management efforts to improve organizational structures, processes, and culture.
- Work closely with the CEO and, Director of Resident Care to prioritize tasks and manage departmental workflows.
- Quality Improvement:_
- Chair the Quality Improvement Committee, coordinating all activities related to quality of care and services.
- Develop and implement effective measurement tools to assess the impact of interventions and inform future initiatives.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of tools that support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide assistance to the CEO in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation for quality initiatives.
- Risk Management:_
- Lead the organization's risk management program, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
- Maintain risk dashboards with key indicators in consultation with leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act.
- Delegate tasks to appropriate parties to support risk management activities.
- Education:_
- Lead all educational initiatives for the home
- Develop, deliver and evaluate in-service education for new and current staff
- Organize and maintain online education platforms (e.g. Surge learning) for all home staff
- Regulatory Compliance:_
- Oversee policy and procedure development and implementation.
- Coordinate and provide leadership for accreditation activities.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
- Provide the CEO with scheduling, communications, and maintaining compliance records.
- Additional Responsibilities:_
- Other duties as assigned

**Job** **Requirements**:

- Education:_
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- RN Designation in good standing
- Six sigma or lean certification an asset
- Experience:_
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare management, with at least three (3) years in quality improvement and risk management.
- Experience supervising staff
- Proficiency in RAI/MDS, PCC, POC, Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and related legislation required
- In-depth knowledge of performance measurement methods and statistical analysis.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability in project management and leading organizational change.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, residents, families, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on resident-centered care.
