Clinical Nutrition Services
Registered Dietitians assess, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based medical nutrition therapy. As an integral member of the program or service's intradisciplinary health care team, and a specialist in normal and therapeutic nutrition, the clinical dietitian provides leadership in the management of medical nutritional therapy to ensure that patients and their care partners receive optimal and patient-centred nutritional care. Dietitians also support education of dietetic and other health care learners, as well as participate in practice-based research.
Regular Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour
Hours of Work: Up to 22 hours per week
**Qualifications**:
- Successful completion of a Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related
- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Membership in Dietitians of Canada preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year recent related experience, preferably in an acute healthcare setting
- Recent experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition preferred
- Demonstrated skills in patient education and ability to support the advancement of dietetic practice-based research and knowledge
- Ability to promote a high standard of professional practice by disseminating nutrition knowledge and information
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development related to best practice in clinical nutrition
- Proficient computer skills including word processing and data management software
- Ability to recognize own feelings, express them fully and constructively manage own feelings in challenging and emotionally charged situations
- Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way
- Ability to stay effective and resilient when dealing with adverse circumstances and multiple demands
- Ability to demonstrate an optimistic disposition toward new experiences and change in general
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
