Bindery Operator

**

The Bindery Operator will report to the Production Manager and run specialized equipment and machines that collate, cut, fold, gather, glue, stitch and drill printed material to produce quality print orders.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures that production goals are met with a high standard of quality.
- Troubleshoots problems to maintain quality standards and to keep finishing equipment in running condition.
- Examines product frequently to ensure that it meets customer quality specifications.
- Pulls and inspects frequent run samples and notifies the Production Manager in the event quality standards are not being met.
- Cleans, lubricates and maintains assigned machine to ensure its optimum operation.
- Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
- Will be responsible for accurate recording of production, and communicate this information to the proper areas
- Able to produce jobs in a timely manner
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Be able to effectively communicate needs and ideas throughout the department

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**
- Previous experience is an asset
- Ability to conduct maintenance on equipment
- Mechanically inclined
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Meticulous, bondable, reliable
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures
- Previous experience in a printing environment is considered an asset

Pay: $18.00-$30.59 per hour
